1.

Why do we need to build a new Church?

Our present church building has ongoing problems with the roof leaking.  We have been told that because of the roof design, we will always have issues with water even if we repair the existing roof.  In addition, the sloping floor in the Church is becoming more of a concern with our congregation.  The cost to repair or change these to parts alone is high.  We believe that St. Jude would be best served as a community now and looking toward the future of the parish, by building a new Church.

2.

Will the floor be slanted?

The floor will not be slanted at all.

3.

What is the cost of construction for the new church?

The projected cost is $4 million for the building, and for the interior features such as pews, stained glass, and other liturgical and sanctuary beautification.

Fr. Michael is soliciting in-kind gifts (bricks, steel and other materials) to help bring this cost down.

4.

Will the new church be a lot larger than our existing church?

No, the new church is designed to seat about 650 people.

5.

Who is being asked to support the campaign?

Every registered, active church family will be asked to participate in the campaign.

6.

Will anything from the existing church be used in the new church>

The statues, Crucifix, Stations of the Cross and Tabernacle will be used in the new church, as well as the liturgical items we already have.

7.

Will we need to take a loan to complete the project?

No, we will wait to begin the project until we have the money in hand to complete the building.

8.

Will we need to take a loan to complete the project?

As a parish we are blessed to have no debt. We will not borrow money to make up for any shortfall in reaching our goal. We will wait to begin the project until we have the money in hand to complete the building.
